Breaking: The Next Batman is Officially Robert Pattinson!
After two weeks of back and forth rumors, Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Planet of the Apes) has officially found his new caped crusader in Robert Pattinson (Twilight, Remember Me, High Life, The Lighthouse). Deadline confirms Pattinson will play Bruce Wayne in The Batman, which hits theaters June 25, 2021.
Pattinson has always been the top choice, while he was among actors on a short list that also included Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies).
As I previously wrote, I know the immediate reaction is to scream, “Oh, the teen heartthrob from Twilight is going to play Bruce Wayne?” But let’s stop and remember the outrage over the casting of Heath Ledger as the Joker. Shit, print publications wrote hit pieces about Tim Burton’s casting of Michael Keaton in his 1989 Batman! Matt Reeves has proven time and time again that he’s one of the best filmmakers in the business, and if he thinks Pattinson is the perfect new Batman I’m all for it.
As for the antagonists? THR’s Heat Vision newsletter is claiming that we’ll be seeing a rogues gallery of villains, which will include Penguin and Catwoman.
They write: “Matt Reeves is still tweaking his script, which is rumored to have at least two villains, the Penguin being one of them, according to sources (one person is telling us there will be around half-a-dozen villains!). We’re hearing of another purrfect character making an appearance in the script as well.”
Pre-production on the Warner Bros.-DC Comics pic is expected to start this summer.

‘Evil Dead Burn’ Heads to Halloween Horror Nights With New Houses in Orlando & Hollywood!
The Book of the Dead has been reopened, and the Deadites are coming to Halloween Horror Nights this year with brand new houses based on new movie Evil Dead Burn.
Evil Dead Burn, New Line Cinema’s latest film in the iconic Evil Dead franchise, takes shape as the newest Halloween Horror Nights haunted house, beginning August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
First introduced in 1981, Evil Dead has evolved from an independent cult classic to one of today’s most terrifying horror properties. Blending extreme gore with dark humor, the franchise consistently centers on the Book of the Dead, an ancient text that unleashes supernatural parasitic demons who possess and twist their victims into Deadites.
Inspired by the franchise’s latest installment, Evil Dead Burn, the haunted houses will take guests on a terrifying firsthand journey through the film’s most frightening moments that begin at the Price family’s secluded vacation home in the woods. The nightmare grows more and more fierce as guests venture through the haunted house, encountering ferocious Deadites around every turn before succumbing to the evil forces themselves.
You can continue to show your fandom for this year’s haunted house lineup with all-new limited-release merchandise inspired by the unstoppable terror of Evil Dead Burn. Halloween Horror Nights runs select nights at Universal Orlando Resort from Friday, August 28 through Sunday, November 1, and at Universal Studios Hollywood from Thursday, September 3 through Sunday, November 1. Additional haunted houses will be revealed soon, with previous announcements including Sinners, Stranger Things 5, and Hellraiser.
