Just in time for Halloween, US real-estate company Bungalo Homes has added a new offering to their list of home inspection services and credentials: Bungalo Paranormal Inspections.
According to the business’ blog, they have hired professional paranormal investigators to begin checking their real-estate properties for paranormal activity, after which they will fill out a “Paranormal Inspection Report” that will, in time, be available for viewing on the listing page proper.
The team notes, “If an inspector does encounter any unwanted paranormal activity in a home, the space in question will be properly cleansed for the buyer’s peace of mind.”
While it is possible that this is only a month-long gimmick, the inspection report form as well as the in-depth and likely very expensive video they include on their blog post (not to mention the post itself) seems almost like too much work to be done for a simple joke. Especially when the investigators they have allegedly brought onto their team do seem, after some digging, to be very real people in the field such as Becky Vickers.
Additionally, this would not be the first time hauntings were used to drum up interest or mystery in property selling. New Orleans, for example, is famous for its HAUNTED/NOT HAUNTED signs that can be found hanging off of almost any edifice for purchase or rent you can think of, particularly French Quarter apartments.
The future will tell if Bungalo Homes’ foray into the paranormal was a seasonal venture or a sincere addition to their inspection offerings, but wouldn’t it be fascinating to see paranormal activity get brought down to the level of mundane paperwork from time to time?
