Original ‘Paranormal Activity’ Stars Praise the Franchise’s New Stage Play

Published

on

In addition to a new video game, the Paranormal Activity franchise is also coming back to life with a brand new stage play this year, set to tell a whole new story… live on stage.

Inspired by the found footage horror franchise, Paranormal Activity: A New Story Live on Stage opens at London’s Ambassadors Theatre on December 5 for a 12-week run.

In the meantime, the play has embarked on a U.S. tour with stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and San Francisco, and several big names have already been showing up.

Original Paranormal Activity stars Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat attended the Paranormal Activity play over the weekend, and they’ve shared their thoughts on Instagram.

Katie Featherston writes, “What a truly fun night seeing the new Paranormal Activity at the Ahmanson Theatre! We had a blast- so scary and so fun. The design and production was amazing and the cast did a fantastic job. Congrats to all involved!”

Micah Sloat writes in his own IG post, “The new Paranormal Activity stage show at the Ahmanson is incredible!! A thrilling combination of horror, stage magic, and storytelling that uses the bones of the original film to build something new and terrifying.”

It was almost 20 years ago that Katie and Micah played fictional versions of themselves in director Oren Peli’s found footage game-changer, which of course launched a franchise that still has life left in it to this day. Might a new movie be next? Stay tuned for more.

Directed by Felix Barrett and written by playwright Levi Holloway, the stage show follows James and Lou, who move from Chicago to London to escape their past. Upon discovering a haunting presence in their home, they use a camera to document the unsettling shadow…
