‘Bug’ Revived on Broadway Starring Carrie Coon
Before William Friedkin’s 2006 film starring Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon, Bug began as a play by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts (August: Osage County).
Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s acclaimed staging of the show has been revived on Broadway with Carrie Coon (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Gone Girl) in the lead role of Agnes White.
Namir Smallwood (“American Rust”) co-stars as Peter Evans. Randall Arney, Jennifer Engstrom, and Steve Key round out the cast.
The genre-bending psychological thriller explores the unexpected and intense romance between a lonely waitress (Coon) and a mysterious drifter (Smallwood).
What begins as a simple connection between two broken people in a seedy Oklahoma motel room twists into something far more dangerous. When reality slips out of grasp, paranoia, delusion, and conspiracy take over.
Tony Award-winning director David Cromer (The Band’s Visit) helms the production.
It features scenic design by Takeshi Kata, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Heather Gilbert, sound design by Josh Schmidt, and hair & make-up by J. Jared Janas.
Following last night’s opening, Bug has been extended to run through February 22 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in New York City. Tickets are on sale now.

‘Dracula’ Audio Drama for Audible Will Feature Jonathan Bailey as Dracula and Ella Purnell as Mina
The most iconic vampire of them all is coming back to life with a brand new Dracula audio drama from Audible, and Deadline reveals the cast of the upcoming adaptation this week.
Jonathan Bailey (Wicked: For Good) leads the cast of the English-language Audible Original production as legendary blood-sucker Count Dracula, alongside Ella Purnell (Fallout) as Mina, Aimee Lou Wood (The White Lotus) as Lucy, Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes) as Jonathan Harker, David Jonsson (The Long Walk) as Dr Seward, Lesley Manville (Phantom Thread) as Mrs. Westenra, Johnny Flynn (Ripley) as Renfield, Francis Lovehall (A Thousand Blows) as Arthur, and Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Dark Knight) as Professor Van Helsing.
Deadline notes, “The Audible Original is also being produced in Castilian Spanish, French, German, Italian, LATAM Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese,” each with their own casts.
The English-language version will be directed by Mary Lambert (Pet Sematary)!
