Last week brought the surprising news that “The Last Drive-In” is coming to an end over on Shudder, with this past Friday night’s double feature being the last regular episode of the show we’ll be seeing on that particular streamer. The good news? There are still four new specials on the way throughout the remainder of 2026, all of which will be streaming only on Shudder.
Across seven seasons and numerous specials the last eight years, Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl have hosted over 200 movies on Shudder, and while the duo promises they’ll be back in the future, it’s likely that their eventual return will look a little different. On that note, the team is now selling off the iconic screen-used trailer from the “Last Drive-In” set.
Joe Bob Briggs announces, “This 1966 canary yellow Shasta has been through a lot since we first towed it off the lot in 2018. I’ve interviewed famous people right here, I’ve held an impromptu prom, gave an inspirational speech, counted countless breasts, had both my head and guts removed from my body on separate occasions, and it all happened right here in front of this aluminum beauty. The auction goes live online… NOW!”
The team further details, “When The Last Drive-In returns for its FINAL double-features in 2026, the show will feature a brand new set – retiring the classic Shasta that’s been a mainstay for the show’s long run. The interior was refinished by the previous owner in 2017, and the electrical (lights and outlets) all function. The trailer is being sold “as-is” by the director, with the interior and exterior still featuring modifications made specifically for the show.”
They’re even tossing in a pair of screen-used lawn chairs and the screen-used marquee sign with changeable lettering, though they note that the neon sign is NOT included with the lot.
