Fans of the Child’s Play franchise have for MANY years been begging for a high quality, full-size replica of the classic Good Guys doll, and Trick or Treat Studios is finally bringing one to the table this year. The upcoming doll was originally teased back in January, with the promise that more information was on the way in March.
Well, it’s March and Trick or Treat has made good on that promise. The company just provided a status update on the hotly anticipated prop replica over on Instagram.
They write, “In April, and we don’t have the exact date yet, we will be launching a Kickstarter Campaign for the Chucky Doll: PRICE RELEASED AT THE TIME OF KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN OPENER. The Kickstarter is going to be amazing and it will include a handful of awesome Kickstarter Exclusive Stretch Goals and two Pledge Levels including one that includes a signed Kickstarter Exclusive Certificate for the first 50 dolls signed by Brad Dourif, the voice of Chucky himself. We will also have a Pledge Level for Retailer Stores as well so that no one will be left out.”
“We are finalizing all of the graphic elements of the campaign and other details now and these things take time, so please be patient as we want this to be a success. That being said, the factory is currently making the production molds now, so we are moving forward full force! The image of the doll in the picture in this update is exactly what your getting and there isn’t a single piece of this doll that wasn’t made from screen used molds and material; in other words, this is as close as you’ll ever get to owning a screen used doll. The doll was assembled and put together Chucky Expert, credited in both of the last two Child’s Play films, Garrett Zima.”
