Out of Tokyo Comic Con, director Michael Dougherty has teased that a new trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters is likely coming next week, and he also showed off concept art and even upcoming action figures of the Toho-approved redesigns for the film’s many monsters.
Dougherty tweeted out the toy prototypes last night, writing: “Playing with my old Godzilla Shogun Warrior and the family camcorder is how I got started. Here’s hoping these SH MonsterArts figures will inspire some kid out there to do the same.”

The sequel takes place five years after the events in the first film…
“When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
Zhang Ziyi, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Bradley Whitford, Ken Watanabe, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance and Aisha Hinds star.
Dougherty directed from a script he wrote with Zach Shields.
Godzilla returns on May 31, 2019.
