Board Game ‘Alien: Fate of the Nostromo’ Will Let You Play Through the Events of the Original Movie

Published

on

Detailed for Alien Day today, Ravensburger is getting set to unleash the new board game Alien: Fate of the Nostromo this summer, and io9 brings us everything we need to know.

The site describes that Fate of the Nostromo is a “collaborative, strategy-based, thriller board game that makes anywhere from one to five players members of the Nostromo crew.”

The characters you and your friends are able to choose from include Dallas, Ripley, Lambert, Brett, and Parker, and the idea is to allow you to play through the events of the movie. Much like the video game Alien: Isolation, you and your crew are tasked with merely surviving the Alien menace rather than defeating it throughout much of the game, and you never know when and where the Xenomorph might pop up to scare the living daylights out of you.

io9 further details, “Together, players must survive and escape before the alien kills them, which means the game will never end the same way the movie does. Either everyone wins, or everyone loses, and each can be accomplished in several different ways.”

Head over to io9 to learn much more about Alien: Fate of the Nostromo, releasing August 1!

‘Scary Movie’ Official Popcorn Bucket Is Shaped Like a Retro ’90s Telephone

Published

The official social media accounts for Scary Movie had recently teased a bong-shaped popcorn bucket, but unfortunately it seems that was just a gag. The actual official Scary Movie popcorn bucket has been revealed by Discussing Film this afternoon, and it’s a bit more practical.

The actual Scary Movie popcorn bucket you’ll be able to get in theaters is shaped like an old school phone, as seen in Wes Craven’s Scream as well as the original Scary Movie in 2000.

The Scary Movie Phone Popcorn Bucket glows in the dark, and it’s emblazoned with “WAZZUP!” on the side, a reference to a memorable moment from the 2000 movie.

A phone number has been set up as part of the movie’s marketing campaign this week, allowing you to call Marlon Wayans’ Shorty for a fun spoof of the retro Moviefone experience.

Call Shorty now at: (855) WAZ-ZZUP

Hitting theaters June 5, 2026Scary Movie has been Rated ‘R’ for “crude sexual content, graphic nudity, strong violence, and drug content and language throughout.”

Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite for the new Scary Movie, with the cast also including Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Jon Abrahams, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose.

Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe…

Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. A whole lot has changed in the horror genre since the Wayans Brothers were in charge of the franchise; their involvement ended with Scary Movie 2 back in 2001!

Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs Scary Movie 6 from a script written by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory WayansCraig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
