Trick or Treat Studios Paying Tribute to Sid Haig With New Captain Spaulding Action Figure
We lost Sid Haig just about two years ago, and he left behind an enduring legacy of characters that audiences will enjoy until the end of the time. One of the most notable roles, of course, is Captain Spaulding from Rob Zombie’s Firefly Trilogy, a character that has been immortalized by multiple different toys over the years. And a brand spankin’ new one is on the way.
Trick or Treat Studios announced today that they’ve turned Captain Spaulding into a “finger lickin’, pistol whippin’ figure,” measuring 5″ tall and complete with action features!
“Trick or Treat Studios is thrilled to release the all new Finger Lickin’ Pistol Whippin’ Captain Spaulding Action Figure! Standing over 5” tall this figure features Finger Lickin’ Pistol Whippin’ Action. Figure includes great accessories – tasty fried chicken bucket and drumstick along with a pistol for all your action needs. Packaged in retro style action figure packaging.”
The figure is up for pre-order for just $19.99, expected in time for Halloween! It’s based on Spaulding’s debut appearance in House of 1000 Corpses, rocking a full clown costume.

Michael Myers, Oogie Boogie, Krampus, and Universal Monsters Join Mattel’s Upcoming Monster High Lineup
In skelebration of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Mattel has unveiled brand-new Monster High Skullector drops set to arrive over the coming months that include Halloween II‘s Michael Myers, The Nightmare Before Christmas‘s Oogie Boogie, Krampus, and more.
The new arrivals begin today, with a limited drop of Universal Monsters Skullector dolls—featuring Frankenstein’s Monster, The Mummy, and Dracula—available exclusively on Walmart.com for $44 each. If you miss it, don’t worry: the trio arrives in retail stores and rolls out internationally on September 1.
With the Halloween season just around the corner, Monster High is slashing into the spirit with a new Michael Myers doll inspired by Halloween II. Michael Myers’s Monster High makeover is a nod to his hospital showdown with Laurie, complete with a red glitter spattered jumpsuit and tons of spine-chilling Easter egg accessories fans of the film will find totally to die for. Look for this slay queen to launch on August 7.
All Hallows’ Eve brings a holiday treat for fans of Tim Burton and director Henry Selick’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The burlap sack baddie of Halloween Town gets a Monster High makeover on October 30, featuring neon green fashion with black patchwork-like stitches and a whole lot of buggy details.
The holiday horrors continue with the December 3 launch of a Monster High doll inspired by 2015’s Krampus movie. A deep red velveteen jacket, extra-long chains add eerie movement, and black knee-high boots recreate Krampus’ cloven hooves. You’ll wind up on the naughty list in style with this one.
All upcoming releases are listed on the Mattel Creations website, where fans can keep track of the releases.
