Unboxing Full Moon’s Tiny Terrors: New Blind Box Toys Celebrate Your Favorite Full Moon Frights

Published

on

A cursory glance at B-movie maven Charles Band’s filmography reveals a long-standing fascination with little creatures, permeating a great number of Full Moon Features’ productions. The diminutive monsters lend themselves well to Full Moon’s latest merchandising venture, blind box collectibles dubbed Tiny Terrors.

The first series features 10 classic Full Moon characters with odds between 1/24 and 1/8: Blade, Tunneler, Leech Woman, Torch, and Six Shooter from the Puppet Master franchise, Jack Attack and Baby Oopsie from Demonic Toys, Radu from Subspecies, Eebee from Evil Bong, and The Gingerdead Man. Blade and Eebee also have translucent chase variants.

Wrapped in foil packaging within a 4.75″ box, each vinyl figure stands between about 3″ and 4.5″ inches tall. Tunneler is the shortest, since he’s bent over in attack position — a fine concept, though in practice it’s more difficult to display than the rest — while Torch is the biggest, thanks to his helmet spear.

The toys’ oversized heads are vaguely reminiscent of Funko Pops, but Tiny Terrors are decidedly more creepy than cute. From Blade’s eye spikes to Eeebee’s hoses, the attention to detail in the sculpts and paint jobs are quite impressive considering the scale.

Figures have affixed stands for easy display without occupying too much valuable shelf space. The Gingerdead Man can double as a festive Christmas ornament with a simple hook through the hole in the cleaver. In fact, a little creativity could convert all of his deadly friends into ornaments for a very Full Moon Christmas.

Most of the heavy hitters are accounted for in the first series, but Full Moon has plenty of options to fill future waves: at least two more Puppet Master essentials in Jester and Pinhead, along with an arsenal of other cult classics like Castle Freak, Dollman, Head of the Family, and Killjoy.

Tiny Terrors sell for $14.95 each or $320 for a case of 24. The price isn’t cheap for a blind box, but Full Moon has mitigated the risk with a selection of fan-favorites. Like a (slightly) grown-up version of a Happy Meal prize, the allure of the mystery box provides as much of a thrill as the display-worthy contents within.
