Mattel Creations Celebrates ‘Jaws’ 50th Anniversary with SDCC Hot Wheels Collectible
Mattel Creations is celebrating a major movie milestone at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 with a special Hot Wheels® collectible for Jaws‘ 50th anniversary.
Those attending San Diego Comic-Con 2025, which runs July 24-27, are going to need a bigger boat for their haul.
Head to Mattel merchandise booth (#2945) for must have collectibles, including the new Monster High™ Skullector™ Elvira Doll as well as the new Nostalgic Film Favorites: Hot Wheels® JAWS 50th Anniversary.
“In celebration of the 50th anniversary of JAWS, Hot Wheels is diving into nostalgia with a bold tribute to one of the most iconic movie scenes of all time: ‘You’re gonna need a bigger boat.’ The packaging itself is a showstopper, designed to reflect the gritty 1970s style and sculpted to mimic the look of water, making it just as collectible as the vehicle inside. You’re gonna need a bigger shelf!”
“These movies have left an indelible mark on pop culture. We worked closely with our creative teams to make sure every detail celebrates the spirit of these iconic moments,” said Nick Karamanos, senior vice president, Mattel Creations & Entertainment Partnerships at Mattel. “It is magical to watch our fans connect with the stories they grew up with and we’re proud to bring that magic to life through our collectibles.”
In Jaws, when the seaside community of Amity finds itself under attack by a dangerous great white shark, the town’s chief of police, a young marine biologist, and a grizzled shark hunter embark on a desperate quest to destroy the beast before it strikes again.
Directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Peter Benchley and Carl Gottlieb, the 1975 classic stars Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton.
The brand new 50th anniversary 4K UHD edition of Jaws released on home video last week, and it also returns to theaters nationwide from August 29 to September 4.
If you can’t make it to SDCC, that’s ok! Products will also be available on MattelCreations.com.

‘Scary Movie’ Official Popcorn Bucket Is Shaped Like a Retro ’90s Telephone
The official social media accounts for Scary Movie had recently teased a bong-shaped popcorn bucket, but unfortunately it seems that was just a gag. The actual official Scary Movie popcorn bucket has been revealed by Discussing Film this afternoon, and it’s a bit more practical.
The actual Scary Movie popcorn bucket you’ll be able to get in theaters is shaped like an old school phone, as seen in Wes Craven’s Scream as well as the original Scary Movie in 2000.
The Scary Movie Phone Popcorn Bucket glows in the dark, and it’s emblazoned with “WAZZUP!” on the side, a reference to a memorable moment from the 2000 movie.
A phone number has been set up as part of the movie’s marketing campaign this week, allowing you to call Marlon Wayans’ Shorty for a fun spoof of the retro Moviefone experience.
Call Shorty now at: (855) WAZ-ZZUP
Hitting theaters June 5, 2026, Scary Movie has been Rated ‘R’ for “crude sexual content, graphic nudity, strong violence, and drug content and language throughout.”
Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite for the new Scary Movie, with the cast also including Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Jon Abrahams, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose.
Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe…
Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. A whole lot has changed in the horror genre since the Wayans Brothers were in charge of the franchise; their involvement ended with Scary Movie 2 back in 2001!
Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs Scary Movie 6 from a script written by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
