David Bowie Was Going to Be in “Twin Peaks: Season 3”

Published

There’s yet another reason for us to mourn the loss of iconic musician and actor David Bowie as it seems that he was going to have a cameo appearance in season 3 of Showtime’s “Twin Peaks” revival. This news comes straight from the mouth of Harry Goaz, who is reprising his role as Deputy Andrew “Andy” Brennan, who was interviewed by Dallas News. Bowie was apparently going to reprise his role as FBI Agent Phillip Jeffries, who appeared in the prequel film Fire Walk With me.

In talking about the process of filming the third season, Goaz reveals just how secretive and paranoid the filmmakers were. “We only received our lines the morning of shooting. We didn’t even receive lines for our entire scenes, only our sides,” he explains, adding that once they were done shooting for the day, the actors would hand their scripts to an assistant who would shred them, all under the watch of a witness.

There isn’t too much more in terms of information in the interview but there are some lovely anecdotes that are certainly worth reading.

Bowie passed away on June 10th, two days after his 69th birthday. He had been fighting a long battle with cancer.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78

In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).

Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.

While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.

The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.

Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.

We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
