Now, we’ve got not one, not two, but EIGHT new cast announcements that also bring character descriptions. Each can be read below.

“The Mist” tells the story of a foreboding mist that arrives in one small town ushering in a terrifying new reality for its residents, putting their humanity to the test. What will people do to survive when blinded by fear?

The novella was turned into a film in 2007 that starred Thomas Jane, Laurie Holden, Marcia Gay Harden, and Andre Braugher.

The series will feature 10 one-hour episodes with the premiere being directed by Adam Bernstein. Production is beginning this summer.

Gus Birney as “Alex Cunningham,” the teenage daughter of Kevin and Eve Cunningham. She’s always been the ‘good daughter,’ but her over-protective mother helps to kick-start a rebellious streak.

Dan Butler as “Father Romanov,” a priest who is caught in between modernity and tradition, he has lost his faith but clings to the ritual.

Luke Cosgrove as “Jay Heisel,” a popular local football superstar and the son of the town sheriff who finds himself accused of a heinous crime.

Danica Curcic as “Mia Lambert,” a drug-addicted woman on the run and in search of a mysterious stash of money.

Okezie Morro as “Jonah Dixon,” a military man with amnesia. He can’t remember who he is. As the truth about his identity unravels, shocking secrets will be revealed.

Darren Pettie as “Connor Heisel,” the local alpha male, town sheriff and father to local football superstar Jay. He struggles to maintain order in an increasingly chaotic and dangerous situation, finding himself up against many who have it out for his accused son.

Russell Posner as “Adrian Garff,” an insecure young teenager who comes to the defense of his best friend Alex, after she is the victim of a brutal crime. A witness to the crime, he finds himself at the center of a controversy which threatens to rip apart the community.

Isiah Whitlock, Jr. as “Gus Redman,” a local mall manager. When a new society forms from the mist survivors at the mall, Gus will have to decide if he will take the role of leader and exactly how far he will go to keep order.

Jason Universe Team Teases “A Thrilling Lineup of New Projects”

Published

We have the Jason Universe to thank for the recent return of Jason Voorhees, with the short film Sweet Revenge and Jason’s arrival in Dead by Daylight helping to bring the hockey mask-wearing horror icon back into our lives. What else is planned, you ask?

In a chat with Variety this week, Jason Universe’s Robbie Barsamian teases that everything we’ve seen up to this point is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Jason’s return.

“We’ve been busy behind the scenes laying the foundation that everyone is finally starting to see come to life, but this is just the tip of the iceberg,” Barsamian teases.

“We have a thrilling lineup of new projects that we can’t wait to share more details on soon.”

Barsamian also notes during the chat with Variety, “We want to give fans fresh takes on what they love most about Jason and continue to expand his world in authentic ways that resonate with horror fans today.” One of those expansions will take the form of the upcoming Peacock and A24 series “Crystal Lake,” which stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees.

“The Crystal Lake TV series will take fans back in time to tell the story of how Pamela Voorhees came to be the mother of all slashers,” Barsamian tells Variety this week.

“Crystal Lake” premieres October 15 on Peacock.

Callum Vinson (“Chucky”) is playing young Jason in “Crystal Lake,” which will tell the origin story of the masked slasher who has stalked the grounds of Crystal Lake for decades.

Last year, the Jason Universe team had teased that a new movie and a new video game are top priorities for the near future. But at this time we have no updates on either front.

Stay tuned for more from the Jason Universe.
