Bryan Fuller Updates On Potential “Hannibal” Return
Will we ever see a fourth season of “Hannibal”? Here’s hoping.
Ever since NBC cancelled the exceptional “Hannibal” back in 2015, after just three seasons, creator Bryan Fuller has been keeping the hope alive by providing regular updates about the status of the series. Yes, it’s currently dead in the water, but Fuller has repeatedly assured that a future revival (or perhaps even a feature film) are not completely off the dinner table.
What’s the latest? Fuller spoke with Mick Garris on the latest episode of Garris’ podcast Post Mortem, and he still seems hopeful about the future of “Hannibal.”
“I have conversations with [producer] Martha De Laurentiis. I have conversations with Mads [Mikkelsen] and Hugh [Dancy]. We’re all excited about the prospect of returning to the story,” Fuller told Garris. “There are some hurdles to get through. I just had a great idea for Season 4. There’s an interesting next chapter in the relationship between Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter that would be fascinating to unpack. I’ve shared it with the gentlemen, and they’re both keen on it.”
Fuller also laid out a potential plan for the Margot Verger character.
“There’s a whole storyline that I want to do with Katharine Isabelle’s character, Margot Verger, who now is the mother of the Verger heir and in control of the Verger meatpacking industry,” Fuller said. “I wanted her to humanize all the Verger meatpacking plants and turn them over to PETA-approved [authority]. That would definitely be marbled through the season: Margot Verger taking down the meat industry as a hot, powerful lesbian.”
For now, “Hannibal” sadly remains dead.

Legendary Grimdark ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Artist John Blanche Has Passed Away at 78
In the grim darkness of the far future there is only war, but it was a cheerful illustrator from England who helped to define the terrifying war-torn imagery that inspired what we now know as Grimdark (a hybrid genre combining horror with sci-fi/fantasy).
Unfortunately for fans of Warhammer 40,000, Trench Crusade and countless other sources of Grimdark thrills, veteran artist John Blanche passed away this week after struggling with health issues for the past few years.
While the artist retired back in 2023, he leaves us with an enormous legacy of iconic artwork that continues to inspire gamers and storytellers around the world to this very day.
The news is especially gloomy as it was only last year that Daniel Lowman and Napoleon Dynamite himself Jon Heder released The Grim & the Dark: The Search for John Blanche, a documentary following Heder’s exploration of the Grimdark genre culminating in a heartwarming encounter with Blanche in his own home.
Below is one of my favorite pieces by Blanche, his highly influential depiction of Warhammer 40k’s God-Emperor of Mankind on his Golden Throne.
We send our deepest condolences to John Blanche’s family, friends, and fans.
