The full schedule for Discovery’s 29th annual “Shark Week” hit the net just a couple weeks back, ahead of the Sunday, July 23rd start of the week-long celebration. Yes, we’re now less than one month away from another “Shark Week,” and this year Discovery is going all out to make sure we all have as much fun with it as possible.
One of the standout highlights of this year’s “Shark Week,” as you might have spotted on the aforementioned schedule, is “Phelps vs. Shark,” a bizarre special that will literally see decorated Olympian Michael Phelps go toe to toe with, well, a Great White shark.
No seriously. Michael Phelps is RACING A SHARK in what’s being called “the battle for ocean supremacy.”
They are one of the fastest and most efficient predators on the planet: Sharks. He is our greatest champion to ever get in the water: Michael Phelps. 39 world records. 23 Olympic golds.
