Next Week’s “Preacher”: Finally… HERR STARR
Last night’s episode of “Preacher” was a riot as AMC’s second season played God with people’s souls. Jesse (Dominic Cooper) must supply the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) with a piece of his soul in order to turn the tables on the seemingly unstoppable killing machine. The episode appears to have ended the Saint of Killers’ story arc, for now, setting the stage for the introduction of the callous and evil Herr Starr (Pip Torrens), who is head of “The Grail”. In this look ahead, we can see that Jesse, Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), and Tulip (Ruth Nega) continue forth in their efforts to find God, all while Starr gets an introduction. When will the two cross paths? Only time will tell. As an added bonus, check out a clip from episode 207, ‘Pig’, in which the trio stage a coup to nab a handful of cash from some barflies. It looks like an absolute blast!
From Skybound Comics and creators Chip Zdarsky and Ramón K Pérez, the horror comic book Stillwater is getting a small screen adaptation at Prime Video, Deadline reports.
Greg Berlanti (You, The Flight Attendant) and Carly Wray (Watchmen, Westworld) are leading the charge on the upcoming horror-drama series from Amazon MGM Studios.
Stillwater has received an eight-episode series order for Prime Video. The series comes from Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and Skybound Entertainment.
Deadline details, “Co-written by Berlanti and Wray, Stillwater is a mind-bending horror thriller that focuses on ex-con Daniel West. When Daniel receives a mysterious letter promising answers about his past and a substantial inheritance in the small town of Stillwater, he discovers a community where nothing ever ages, no one ever dies, and nobody ever gets out.”
