Last Night’s “Rick and Morty” Was a Bloodbath!
“I’m Pickle Rick!”
Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” is back with a vengeance. While last night’s episode will forever be remembered as a classic in which Rick turns himself into a pickle to avoid going to family therapy, it was also one of the most violent 30-minutes of television I’ve ever seen.
You see, Pickle Rick gets attacked by a cat and ends up down a storm drain. There, he waits patiently for a cockroach to approach and eats its head. With the brain exposed, Pickle Rick uses his tongue to move the roach’s dead shell and build himself a suit with roach arms and legs. After tricking a sewer rat into a trap, he completes his super corpse suit and ravages several of them by slicing and dicing their innards all over the place. It’s vicious. Once up a pipe, he ends up in a federal prison where he must fight his way out in the goriest of fashions. I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it.

A lonely Carrie White seeks friendship and answers in the first teaser for Carrie, a brand new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic story from horror master Mike Flanagan.
Along with the new teaser comes the announcement that the eight-episode limited series premieres on Prime Video on October 7.
The series follows misfit high‑schooler Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), who has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.
Carrie is written and executive produced by showrunner Mike Flanagan (Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House) with Flanagan also directing four episodes.
Stephen King also serves as executive producer.
Also starring in the series are Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.
Each of the show’s episodes will apparently open with the introduction of “a different, unique story of a different woman, somewhere else in the world and in time, coming to terms with their own abilities.” Flanagan teased, “Carrie’s specific place among that group of women is part of the real joy that we get to discover over the course of the season.”
Expect Flanagan to expand King’s story in unexpected ways, using a modern lens.
