A Third Season of “Preacher” Looking Likely
I haven’t been paying much attention to the ratings behind AMC’s “Preacher”, but I personally love the show and am fully strapped in for the long haul. With the second season coming to a close, I’ve been on pins and needles awaiting word on a potential third. Thankfully, there are signs that AMC will give the blessing for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to continue Jesse Custer’s journey to find God.
“Producers of the reliably unpredictable AMC series have filed paperwork to shoot its third season in the Crescent City as well, says New Orleans Television. “It’s the first signal that AMC has green-lit the series for a third time around. The filing with the Louisiana film office shows pre-production on Season 3 is slated to start in early November. Principal photography would begin Jan. 5, 2018.”
The second season is coming to a close as the Saint of Killers has been let loose, while Herr Starr is working to convince Jesse to take the throne as the new God. It’s unclear how they’re planning to wrap up the second season or what direction they’ll take the third, but there are hints of diving deep into Jesse’s past. There’s a rich mythology for them to mine for another few seasons…

The official teaser trailer for “Crystal Lake” was just released this afternoon (watch it below), with Peacock bringing the Friday the 13th prequel series to life on October 15.
But will the series from A24 be a weekly release, you might be wondering?
Bloody Disgusting has learned tonight that ALL EIGHT EPISODES of “Crystal Lake” will release at the same time on October 15. Each episode has a runtime of 60 minutes.
The series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?
Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, a mother who gave up a singing career to raise her special needs child, only to take a dark turn when she loses her son — Jason.
Callum Vinson (“Chucky”) is playing young Jason in “Crystal Lake,” which will tell the origin story of the masked slasher who has stalked the grounds of Crystal Lake for decades.
Brad Caleb Kane (“IT: Welcome to Derry”) is the showrunner for the series.
The eight-episode series “Crystal Lake” is directed by Michael Lennox (“Derry Girls”), Celine Held & Logan George (Caddo Lake), and Quyen Tran (“The Pitt”).
