Thank God (Pun Intended), AMC Renews “Preacher”!
Show co-creator Seth Rogen just tweeted out the best news for us fans of “Preacher”, announcing that AMC has officially renewed the show for a third season.
The series has not followed the excellent comic book series created by Garth Ennis and instead has carved its own path. In doing so, Rogen and Evan Goldberg have created new mysteries and mythology behind some of the coolest characters ever created.
The show follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a small-town preacher with a criminal past, who realizes God is absent from Heaven, and sets out to find Him. Along for the ride are Tulip (Ruth Negga), Jesse’s volatile true love, and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), an 119-year-old Irish vampire and Jesse’s best mate. In Season 2, the gang ends up in New Orleans, where they must dodge local gangsters, dangerous secret agents in white suits, and the Saint of Killers, an unstoppable killer cowboy from Hell.
The expanded second season, consisting of 13 episodes, also introduced comic fav, Herr Starr, and set the stage for the potential reveal of God himself in Season 3. There’s still a lot of comic ground to cover, especially all of our characters’ backstories. Rogen and Goldberg have teased that we’ll learn about Jesse’s past in Season 3, which is about as dark as it gets. I can’t friggin’ wait, cowboy.

The Ghostbusters franchise returns to the world of animation with brand new Netflix series “Ghostbusters: Night Shift,” and the official logo has been revealed this weekend.
Expect “Ghostbusters: Night Shift” to clock in on Netflix in 2027!
Netflix previews, “Ghostbusters: Night Shift, a series from Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation based on the beloved Ghostbusters franchise, will debut exclusively on Netflix in 2027.
“The new series marks the next chapter in the franchise’s ghoul-catching legacy, bringing supernatural comedy and paranormal action back to animation.”
The upcoming animated series from Netflix will be executive produced by Ben Hibon, Elliott Kalan, Jason Reitman, Gil Kenan, Amie Karp, and Dan Aykroyd.
Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman, director of the original Ghostbusters features, and Kenan co-wrote the franchise’s most recent installments, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Frozen Empire.
