CBS Developing “Twilight Zone” Reboot for All Access Streaming Service
In recent years we’ve heard talks of a “Twilight Zone” movie getting off the ground, but it looks like the iconic series is soon headed back to the small screen once more.
Deadline reports that CBS chairman Les Moonves revealed today that a reboot of “The Twilight Zone” is in development, to be aired exclusively on CBS All Access.
“Where others worry about cord cutters, we don’t,” Moonves said during an earnings call. “Where others are losing subs to cord cutters, we’re growing.”
No official details have yet been announced about the reboot, but THR speculates that show hails from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw banner, with Marco Ramirez (Netflix’s The Defenders and Daredevil) set to pen the script and serve as showrunner.
“The Twilight Zone,” created and hosted by Rod Serling, ran as a series on CBS from 1959 to 1964. The show melded fantasy, science-fiction, and horror elements with Serling serving as the exec producer and writing or co-writing 92 of the show’s 156 episodes along with delivering monologues at the beginning and end of each episode.
