E4 and Netflix partnered up earlier this year for the teen thriller The End of the F***ing World, which follows the adventures of disturbed teenager James who embarks on a road trip with a new girl in school, Alyssa, to find her real father. One night, however, the pair find themselves caught up in events that lead them down an increasingly menacing and surreal path.

Alex Lawther, who was excellently mortifying in “Black Mirror”, stars as the young teen alongside Jessica Barden (“Penny Dreadful”) in the series that will premiere this coming Friday, January 5th!

Written by Charlie Covell and based on the award-winning series of comic books by Charles Forsman, the series is described as a darkly comic road trip tale.

Jonathan Entwistle and Lucy Tcherniak direct, while Kate Ogborn (The Unloved, Red Riding) is producer.

We are still waiting for the marketing campaign to get underway for Friday the 13th prequel series “Crystal Lake,” but while we wait for the trailer, we’ve got a fresh tease this week.

Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees in “Crystal Lake,” the mother of Jason Voorhees and the killer from the original Friday the 13th movie. The character finally takes center stage in the upcoming Peacock series, and Cardellini teases what to expect in a new chat with Deadline.

“She’s important to the series, but sort of unexplored,” Cardellini tells the outlet. “So I thought that would be really, really fun, to do something I’d never done.”

The actress goes on to explain that “Crystal Lake” showrunner Brad Caleb Kane has “made sort of this mixtape of all the things that he would love to see happen for [Pamela Voorhees].”

“It goes all over the place for her character and it’s really fun,” Cardellini adds.

“Crystal Lake” premieres October 15 on Peacock.

Callum Vinson (“Chucky”) is playing young Jason in “Crystal Lake,” which will tell the origin story of the masked slasher who has stalked the grounds of Crystal Lake for decades.

Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, a mother who gave up a singing career to raise her special needs child, only to take a dark turn when she loses her son — Jason.

From A24 and streamer Peacock, “Crystal Lake” will notably be the first official Friday the 13th project since the Platinum Dunes remake of the original classic way back in 2009.
