Simon Pegg and Nick Frost Developing Horror-Comedy Series “Truth Seekers”!

The duo behind Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost formed their own indie production company last year, Stolen Picture, and their first small screen project will bring them back into the horror genre!

As revealed by Variety, Pegg and Frost are developing “Truth Seekers, a half-hour, horror-comedy TV series about a three-person paranormal investigation team.

“Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something,” Pegg tells the site. “It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. ‘Shaun of the Dead’ was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”

Meanwhile, Stolen Picture’s debut film is now in post-production. It’s a horror-comedy titled Slaughterhouse Rulez, directed by Crispian Mills. The film is set in an illustrious British boarding school that becomes a bloody battleground when a mysterious sinkhole appears at a nearby fracking site unleashing unspeakable horror.

Stolen Picture is backed by Sony Pictures Television, which is, separately, distributing Slaughterhouse Rulez,” Variety notes. “It is already out in the market with Truth Seekers.”
