Doug Jones is Starring In FX’s “What We Do In the Shadows” Pilot!
The “What We Do in the Shadows” pilot has added four more to its cast, Variety reports, including Doug Jones.
Beanie Feldstein (Lady Bird), Jake McDorman (Lady Bird), and Mark Proksch (“The Office”, “Better Call Saul”) have also joined the FX half-hour comedy pilot. The details of their roles are being kept under wraps, but all four will potentially recur on the show should it get ordered to series.

Jones currently stars as Saru in the CBS All Access series “Star Trek: Discovery” and plays the amphibian man in the Oscar-nominated film The Shape of Water. His past roles include Hellboy and its sequel, Pan’s Labyrynth, and playing The Ancient in the FX series “The Strain.”
The four join previously announced stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, and Harvey Guillen.
Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi–the stars, writers, and directors of the 2014 film on which the project is based–will serve as executive producers, with Clement serving as writer and Waititi serving as director.
A lonely Carrie White seeks friendship and answers in the first teaser for Carrie, a brand new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic story from horror master Mike Flanagan.
Along with the new teaser comes the announcement that the eight-episode limited series premieres on Prime Video on October 7.
The series follows misfit high‑schooler Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), who has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.
Carrie is written and executive produced by showrunner Mike Flanagan (Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House) with Flanagan also directing four episodes. Stephen King also serves as executive producer.
Also starring in the series are Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.
Each of the show’s episodes will apparently open with the introduction of “a different, unique story of a different woman, somewhere else in the world and in time, coming to terms with their own abilities.” Flanagan teased, “Carrie’s specific place among that group of women is part of the real joy that we get to discover over the course of the season.”
Expect Flanagan to expand King’s story in unexpected ways, using a modern lens.
