We’re thrilled that HBO has decided to bring back “True Detective” for a third season, and we’ve got the latest casting news for you today courtesy of Deadline.
The site reports today that Sarah Gadon (“Alias Grace”) and Emily Nelson (“Code Black”) will recur in Season 3, as characters named Elisa Montgomery and Margaret.
Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why) and Michael Graziadei also just joined.
“Season 3 tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.”
The new season’s cast also includes Scoot McNairy, Stephen Dorff, Carmen Ejogo, Mahershala Ali, Mamie Gummer, Rhys Wakefield, Ray Fisher, Michael Greyeyes and Jon Tenney.
Nic Pizzolatto will serve as showrunner and direct alongside Green Room‘s Jeremy Saulnier. Executive producers include Pizzolatto, Saulnier, Scott Stephens, Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey and Cary Fukunaga. Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Bard Dorros and Richard Brown are exec producers.
