An Official “Walking Dead” Roller Coaster is Coming This Spring!
We’re thinking this will be way more fast-paced than the TV show.
The United Kingdom’s Thorpe Park, the home of SAW: The Ride, just announced this week that The Walking Dead: The Ride will be added to the park this coming Spring!
Yes, this will be the world’s first “Walking Dead” coaster. The premise?
“Thorpe Park Resort is overrun by Walkers and there is but one goal: survive. Making it to the sanctuary of the Safe Zone is vital for salvation. Located at the centre of the Island, navigate your way to the safety of the indoor bunker – but be warned. All signs point to an imminent invasion of Walkers, so keep your head down and move quickly for your best chance of staying alive.”
The ride will recreate iconic moments and locations from the hit AMC series, and Thorpe’s John Burton tells The Independent it’s aiming to deliver maximum terror.
“It’s 15 out of 10 on the scare scale,” he told the site. “‘We are combining physical and digital effects because it is going to be dark, so we are going to make the most of that. The darkness acted as a canvas for us. We have incorporated the latest in special effects, lighting, smells and even touch elements to create a terrifyingly unique atmosphere.”

Henry Cavill had been set to lead Amazon MGM Studios’ “Warhammer 40,000” series a few years ago, and the small screen project finally gets a fresh update this week.
According to Deadline, horror master Mike Flanagan (“Carrie”) is currently in talks to come on board the “Warhammer” TV series as an Executive Producer.
Deadline also notes in today’s report, “It’s still being determined if the Doctor Sleep filmmaker will be showrunning the Henry Cavill passion project.”
Henry Cavill is set to both star in and executive produce the upcoming series, with Amazon MGM Studios potentially looking to also bring “Warhammer” into the world of film.
“Warhammer 40,000 is set in the far future, where humanity stands at the edge of what might be its brightest future, or its darkest age.
“The threats to humankind’s empire are many — traitors driven by the fires of ambition, alien empires sworn to reclaim the stars, and the corruption of reality by malevolent gods.”
Vertigo Entertainment will executive produce alongside Games Workshop and Amazon Studios.
