Michael Sheen and David Tennant are playing the lead characters of Aziraphale and Crowley in Amazon’s “Good Omens,“ a six-part series based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s novel. Variety reports that Nick Offerman is the latest to join the cast.
Offerman will play the U.S. Ambassador and father of the child Warlock in the series, who is mistakenly believed to be the Antichrist.
“Good Omens takes place in 2018 when the Apocalypse is near and Final Judgment is set to descend upon humanity. The armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, and tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan — except a somewhat fussy angel, and a fast-living demon are not looking forward to the coming war, and someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist.”
The cast also includes Jon Hamm and Miranda Richardson, as well as Anna Maxwell Martin, Mireille Enos, Lourdes Faberas and Yusuf Gatewood.
“Good Omens” is in production and will be released by Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries in 2019. It will be followed by a run on BBC Two in the U.K.
