FOX Kills the Devil and Cancels “Lucifer” After Three Seasons
Fox has been axing shows left and right, pulling the plug on “The Last Man on Earth,” “Brooklyn 99” and “The Mick” just yesterday. Today, they’ve announced that “Lucifer” will soon be no more, as the show has been cancelled ahead of the Season 3 finale.
Actor Tom Ellis, who played the series’ sexy Satan, just tweeted the following:
“It has been the most amazing experience over the past 3 years playing Lucifer and falling in love with you, the fans. It fills me with great sadness to confirm the rumours that some of you have been asking. Fox has indeed cancelled
#lucifer I’m so sorry guys.#gutted“
The ratings for “Lucifer” had still been pretty strong in its third season, dipping slightly under 3 million viewers of late. The season started with nearly 4 million tuning in.
In “Lucifer,” Lucifer Morningstar has decided he’s had enough of being the dutiful servant in Hell and decides to spend some time on Earth to better understand humanity. He settles in Los Angeles – the City of Angels.
The spooky comic book series Afterlife with Archie is getting a live action television series adaptation from Disney+, and Deadline reports that it’ll premiere for Halloween 2027.
The upcoming series from Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions brings to life the comic book from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Francesco Francavilla.
Afterlife with Archie turns the town of Riverdale into a zombie-overrun apocalypse — where the only thing scarier than the undead is trying to survive your teenage years…
“When a supernatural spell from a certain teen-witch backfires, unleashing an army of the possessed dead upon Riverdale, Archie and his friends must fight to stay alive, testing the friendships, romances, and loyalties that have always held them together.”

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) will write the series.
“This was the comic book that started it all. Before there was a Riverdale, before there was a Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, there was Afterlife with Archie, which I collaborated on with the best horror artist in the business, Francesco Francavilla,” Aguirre-Sacasa said. “Getting to turn Afterlife into a TV series for the amazing team at Disney+ with our incredible partners at Berlanti Productions, WB and, of course, Jon (Goldwater) and his Archie family is truly a full-circle moment — and the ultimate dream project for me.
