Netflix’s “Castlevania” series, initially a four-episode anime adaptation of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, was picked up for a second season last year, with the expanded eight-episode season reportedly coming this summer. We don’t yet even have a premiere date for Season 2, but Digital Spy reports that Season 3 is being developed!

Star Richard Armitage, who voices Trevor Belmont in the series, just told the site, “We’re about to record a third [season]. The second season hasn’t been aired yet, but we’re about to do a third.”

Armitage also teased Season 2, noting “The son of Dracula [Adrian Tepes, voiced by James Callis] and my character get much more collaborative. I think that’s one of the most exciting things; they start to really work together.

The series also stars Graham McTavish (“Preacher”) as Dracula, James Callis (“Battlestar Galactica”) as Alucard, and Fred Tatasciore, Alejandra Reynos, and Emily Swallow.

“Castlevania” is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself.

The animated series is written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert, and Adi Shankar.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
