With The First Purge now in theaters, USA Network has set their “The Purge” event series to premiere on Tuesday, September 4 at 10/9c. While we’ve already seen some footage, the full trailer has been released out of the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con and it promises to break all the rules and deliver heaps of sex and violence.
“The Purge” revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal.
Set in an altered America ruled by a totalitarian political party, the series follows several seemingly unrelated characters living in a small city. As the clock winds down, each character is forced to reckon with their past as they discover how far they will go to survive the night.
Emmy and Golden Globe award-winner Anthony Hemingway directed and executive produced the premiere episode.
