As of this morning, the fourth episode of Hulu’s “Castle Rock” is now up for streaming, inviting you to dive deeper into the Stephen King Universe at your earliest convenience. The story isn’t actually a King adaptation but rather is merely set within King’s fictional world, brushing up against some of his most iconic tales in wonderfully non-obtrusive ways.
Yes, “Castle Rock” is loaded with Easter eggs, but that’s not all the series has going for it. And King himself encourages you to put those aside and enjoy it as its own original story.
Taking to Twitter last night, King tweeted, “Castle Rock is really good, each episode better than the last. But put all that Easter egg stuff aside and just enjoy it on its own terms. The cast is incandescent and they support a story worth telling.”
He added, “I can say all that because I didn’t write it.”
