After becoming a genre icon by starring in Re-Animator, Chopping Mall and From Beyond, Barbara Crampton made her return to horror in You’re Next. Since then, she’s blasted back on the scene, having starred in We Are Still Here, Sun Choke, Tales of Halloween, Road Games, Beyond the Gates, Replace, Dead Night, and the forthcoming Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich! Next up, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report that Crampton has joined the cast of “Channel Zero: The Dream Door”, the next installment of SYFY’s horror anthology series “Channel Zero”.
The next installment will also star Brandon Scott (“Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block”, “Greys Anatomy”), Maria Sten (Straight Outta Compton), Steven Robertson (“Elementary”) and Steven Weber(“Wings”) and will premiere on SYFY later this year.
Based on the “creepypasta” short story “Hidden Door” by Charlotte Bywater, “Channel Zero: The Dream Door” follows newlyweds Jillian (Sten) and Tom Hodgson (Scott), who have each brought secrets into their marriage. When they discover a strange door in their basement, those secrets start to threaten their relationship — and their lives.
Crampton will play “Vanessa Moss” – a woman with a close relationship with Tom Hodgson, we’re told. She’s unprepared for the danger that Tom brings with him.
“Channel Zero: The Dream Door” and will be directed by Cheap Thrills and Small Crimes‘ Evan Katz (E.L. Katz).
Nick Antosca, who has an overall deal with UCP, will return as executive producer, writer and showrunner for the upcoming installment.
