It wasn’t long ago that Henry Cavill expressed interest in playing Geralt for Netflix’s live action adaptation of “The Witcher“ books, which got fans super excited about the project. Of course, it was all talk at the time, but we’ve learned today that Cavill has now officially been cast!
Cavill will lead the cast of the 8-episode series, playing the role of Geralt of Rivia.
“Based on the best-selling fantasy series, The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.”
Alik Sakharov, Charlotte Brändström and Alex Garcia Lopez will direct the series from showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (Daredevil, The Defenders, Umbrella Academy).
