While this horror holiday season is jam-packed with movies, the most anticipated release (outside of Halloween) is Netflix’s new series “The Haunting of Hill House”, directed by Mike Flanagan (Hush, Ouija: Origin of Evil, Oculus, Before I Wake, Gerlad’s Game).
Ahead of the October 12th release, Netflix is taking us behind-the-scenes of the filming, which focuses on how Flanagan directs “fear”. In such a short video, we learn more than a handful of reasons why Flanagan is one of the top directors in our space. Here, he talks about complex characters and the “ghosts” they carry from their past, as well as how he sustains tension (in an attempt to further the genre), and how he knows that modern filmmakers must “respect” the audience.
