We are loving the just-released full trailer for Netflix’s comic book adaptation “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,“ which is arriving on the streaming service just in time for Halloween on October 26. Kiernan Shipka stars as the title character in the series, which reimagines the teenage witch for a dark coming-of-age tale that traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft.
Before the series came into being, creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa just revealed in a chat with EW, he had wanted to make a Sabrina horror film with Jason Blum!
“For a long time I was trying to get Sabrina done as a low-budget horror movie for Jason Blum [of Blumhouse Productions], and even wrote a screenplay with a friend,” Aguirre-Sacasa told the site. “Strangely, though it’s very different from the show, it did center on her 16th birthday.”
He added, “Ultimately, Jason didn’t want to pursue that, and thank goodness because we’re getting to do this as a TV show, which feels right.”
