More casting today for DC Universe’s “Swamp Thing” series, as Deadline reports that “Riverdale” and “Extant” actor Henderson Wade has just joined the cast.
Wade has found himself in the series regular role of Matt Cable, a Louisiana lawman who finds himself in dire straits when supernatural evil threatens the town he’s sworn to protect.
Jennifer Beals, Virginia Madsen, Will Patton, Andy Bean, Crystal Reed, Derek Mears, Jeryl Prescott and Maria Sten will also star in the series.

“Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.
The series is targeting a 2019 premiere on DC Universe.
The James Wan-produced series aiming to be scary and rated “R” violent, primarily based on Alan Moore’s run. It will also feature a practical creature suit, which Mears will be donning.
