Earlier this year, Apple gave a straight-to-series order to a psychological thriller series from “Outcast” writer Tony Basgallop that M. Night Shyamalan will executive produce, and Deadline reports tonight that Toby Kebbell has joined Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint, Lauren Ambrose (“Six Feet Under”) and Nell Tiger Free (“Game of Thrones”) in the series.
The half-hour series has received a 10-episode order, with Shyamalan also set to direct the first episode.
The site notes, “While the plot of the series has not been revealed, I hear it follows parents Dorothy and Sean Turner, who have hired young nanny Leanne to help care for their newborn child. Not to spoil the big twist, let’s just say things are not quite as they seem.”
Ambrose will play the mother, Dorothy Turner, with Kebbell as Sean Turner. Free will portray the nanny, Leanne Grayson. Grint will play Julian Pearce, Dorothy’s younger brother.
The series will be produced by Shyamalan’s Blinding Edge Pictures with Ashwin Rajan serving as executive producer. Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black and Steve Tisch of Escape Artists will also executive produce, with Taylor Latham co-executive producing.
