Behind the Scenes Photos from Upcoming “Critters: A New Binge” Highlight Heavy Practical Effects!

Published

It would seem that there are currently two different official Critters projects in the works, including a brand new film from Syfy that’s shooting early next year. Additionally, as announced last year, Zombeavers director Jordan Rubin was directing web series “Critters: A New Binge” for Verizon’s go90, a mobile video service that Verizon has since shut down.

We don’t know when or in what form it’ll be coming, but it looks like “Critters: A New Binge” is still happening. In fact, a series of behind the scenes photos from the Facebook group Critters Rehatched indicate that the series has already been filmed, and it’s heavy on practical FX!

*Update*: We have confirmed that “Critters: A New Binge” has wrapped filming, and a release announcement is coming soon!

Check out some of the photos below and see more over on Critters Rehatched!

The plot for the series is as follows…

“The critters return to Earth in search of one of their kin, who was left behind years ago during an earlier mission. They land in Burbank, Calif., where they wreak havoc on a group of high schoolers and their families.”

The creative team behind Zombeavers, Jordan Rubin, Jon Kaplan and Al Kaplan, wrote and executive produced, with Rubin also directing.

Rupert Harvey and Barry Opper, from the original film franchise, produce.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
