“The Walking Dead” Season 9 Finale Synopsis Suggests a Winter Storm is Finally Coming!

One of the things we really haven’t seen on “The Walking Dead, now nine seasons deep, is a change of weather, which is something that Robert Kirkman has shown in his comic books. Not all that long ago, Kirkman himself had noted that the show’s budgetary constraints were preventing it from creating a faux winter wonderland, but it seems that will soon be changing.

Only three episodes remain in the show’s ninth season, and the plot synopsis for the Season 9 finale over on IMDb suggests that freeze-dried walkers are likely on their way!

In “The Storm,” airing March 31st…

“In the aftermath of an overwhelming loss, the communities must brave a ferocious blizzard; as one group deals with an enemy from within, another is forced to make a life or death decision.”

The hint of a “ferocious blizzard” is surely exciting to anyone who’s a fan of winter-set horror (myself included), and it’ll be interesting to see how the show plays with mother nature’s harshest element. We’ve seen some pretty crazy, highly unique zombies on the show these past nine seasons, but we’ve to date never seen what happens to walkers when they freeze.

And how about that “overwhelming loss,” eh? Any guesses…?
