Two years ago, Stephen King was asked which of his stories he’d most like to see an adaptation of, and his response was Lisey’s Story, published in 2006. “Lisey’s Story is my favorite of the books and I would love to see that done, especially now that there’s a kind of openness on the streaming services on TV and even the cable networks,” King said at the time.
King is getting his wish, as THR reports that Apple has given an eight-episode, straight-to-series order to a small screen adaptation of Lisey’s Story, with King writing all eight episodes!
Even better? Julianne Moore is attached to star!
The series is described as a deeply personal thriller that follows Lisey (Moore) two years following the death of her husband.
“The series explores a series of events that causes her to begin facing amazing realities about her husband that she had repressed and forgotten.”
J.J. Abrams is on board to produce through Bad Robot Productions. Moore, King and Ben Stephenson will executive produce.
