We learned this morning that WB had unexpectedly shut down production on DC Universe’s James Wan-produced “Swamp Thing” a bit early, slashing the number of episodes from 13 down to 10. How do you cover up that bad press with good press? How about a teaser trailer?!

Check it out below. “Swamp Thing” is still set to premiere on May 31!

Reportedly, three episodes were shaved off for creative reasons.

The series stars Derek Mears at the titular monster, alongside Jennifer BealsVirginia Madsen, Ian ZieringWill Patton, Andy BeanCrystal Reed, Kevin Durand, Henderson Wade, Jeryl Prescott and Maria Sten. Directors include E.L. Katz and Len Wiseman.

“Swamp Thing” centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Reed). When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Ziering will play Daniel Cassidy, also known as Blue Devil.  Durand stars as Jason Woodrue, the brilliant but abrasive scientist who longtime fans of DC Comics also know as the transmogrified super-villain called Floronic Man.

The series, based on the DC characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, is written by “Ash vs. Evil Dead” writer Mark Verheiden and IT co-writer Gary Dauberman.

The series aiming to be scary and rated “R” violent, primarily based on Alan Moore’s run. It will also feature a practical creature suit, which Mears will be donning.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

“Chucky” – Official Trailer for This Week’s New Episode Brings Brad Dourif into the White House!

Brad Dourif

Just two episodes remain in Season 3 of “Chucky,” with the second-to-last episode airing this Wednesday night on USA & SYFY. It’s titled “There Will Be Blood,” and oh yes there will be.

Last week’s episode was absolutely INSANE, with Chucky taking control of the situation room in the White House and attempting to start World War 3. His plan was thwarted, but not before nuking the North Pole. In the wake of launching that missile, Chucky met the true death, his doll body disintegrating into ash like he got Thanos snapped out of existence.

The episode ended with an appearance from Brad Dourif as Charles Lee Ray in his human form, with his spirit now free from the doll and roaming around the haunted White House.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for this week’s episode: “Parapsychologists investigate the disturbances in the White House, while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) plans her escape.”

“There Will Be Blood” airs Wednesday, April 24 on USA and SYFY. Reversing a new plan they tested out last week, we’re told the episode will be available on Peacock this Thursday.

Watch the trailer below to preview this week’s bloody new episode!
