Bryan Fuller Assures That “No One Has Given Up” On “Hannibal” Returning to Television

Believe it or not, we’re now approaching four years since the Bryan Fuller-created “Hannibal” came to an end, with the third season sadly becoming the final season when NBC decided to pull the plug. For three seasons, “Hannibal” was beautiful, ultra-violent small screen horror gold, and though the finale was pretty perfect, it hopefully was not the true end.

For the past four years, Bryan Fuller has continually made it clear that he’s not giving up hope on “Hannibal” coming back to life, and this week he reminds us of that fact.

Fuller tweeted to a fan, “No one has given up! I’ve made it clear I want to do it, the cast wants to do it and Martha wants to do it. We just need a network or a streaming service that wants to do it, too. I don’t feel there’s a clock on it or an expiration date for the idea.”

We just need someone to bite,” Fuller reiterated.

When we chatted with star Mads Mikkelsen earlier this year, he too offered a glimmer of hope.

Mikkelsen told us, “I haven’t heard anything specific. I know Bryan is still working on some ideas where we can find a new home for this. I also have a strong feeling that everybody who was involved in it would gladly pick up the glove again if that happens. I know that [Fuller] was working to get the rights to Silence of the Lambs so he could get in there and use some of those characters for his own universe. I have a hunch that might be where we’re going.”
