First Look at Netflix’s Second Season of “Dark”
Netflix shared with Bloody several stills from the second season of the German thriller “Dark”, their family drama with a supernatural twist.
In the series, a missing child sets four families on a frantic hunt for answers. Their search for a culprit unearths a small town’s sins and secrets.
In the second season, “Jonas finds himself trapped in the future and desperately tries to return to 2020. Meanwhile, his friends Martha, Magnus, and Franziska are trying to uncover how Bartosz’ is involved in the mysterious incidents occurring in their small hometown of Winden. More and more people are drawn into the events orchestrated by an obscure figure who seemingly controls everything that is connected throughout different time zones.”
“Dark” comes from acclaimed Swiss director Baran Bo Odar (Sleepless, Who Am I?) and the producers of Oscar winner The Lives of Others.
“Dark” Season 2 arrives on June 21, 2019.
A lonely Carrie White seeks friendship and answers in the first teaser for Carrie, a brand new adaptation of Stephen King’s classic story from horror master Mike Flanagan.
Along with the new teaser comes the announcement that the eight-episode limited series premieres on Prime Video on October 7.
The series follows misfit high‑schooler Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), who has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.
Carrie is written and executive produced by showrunner Mike Flanagan (Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House) with Flanagan also directing four episodes.
Stephen King also serves as executive producer.
Also starring in the series are Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Joel Oulette as Tommy Ross, Josie Tota as Tina, Arthur Conti as Billy, Thalia Dudek as Emaline, Amber Midthunder as Miss Desjardin, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle.
Each of the show’s episodes will apparently open with the introduction of “a different, unique story of a different woman, somewhere else in the world and in time, coming to terms with their own abilities.” Flanagan teased, “Carrie’s specific place among that group of women is part of the real joy that we get to discover over the course of the season.”
Expect Flanagan to expand King’s story in unexpected ways, using a modern lens.
