Ahead of the return of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, CD Projekt RED and Netflix have released a new teaser for the anime, which continues the frenetic and bloody action fans experienced with the first season. Netflix has also revealed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will arrive this fall, and have dropped new details on this season’s protagonists.

Set against Rico Nasty’s “You Can’t Run From Me”, the trailer shows off plenty of gunplay, blood and the neon of Night City. Rather than a continuation of the previous season, Season 2 features a brand-new, standalone 10-episode story that’s described as “a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge.”

The teaser also gives us our first look at the new crew of edgerunners:

  • Roman Carax: A young boy who is constantly filming the chaos with an old-school camcorder.
  • Talia Yang: A woman sporting pink hair, a tactical face mask and dual pistols.
  • D: A spiky-haired netrunner that sports a red facial scar.
  • Weak “King” Kingsley: A veteran edgerunner wearing tinted shades and wielding a massive cannon.

The same animation studio from the first season, Trigger, is back, although this time led by Kai Ikarashi after handling storyboarding for the first season. Story writer and producer Bartosz Sztybor returns as the showrunner.
