Final Season of “Preacher” Gets Teasers and Poster That Ask, Was it All God’s Design? [Video]

As I previously wrote, I was extremely worried that AMC would cancel Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s “Preacher” before Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy were able to track down God and make him answer for abandoning his creation. Season 3 ended in a shocker, while also setting the table for what I speculated could be the show’s final season. The forthcoming fourth season will be, in fact, the final and that it will hit the road on August 4th. We are not only blessed to have received this show, but to also be getting a proper finale. Thank God, if they ever find him.

“Preacher” is a dramatic thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass ex-girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

As the series inches closer to the finale, God’s endgame for the universe begins to click into place. Trapped between heavenly prophecies, hellish prisons, and all-out nuclear war, Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy make their bloody way to the Most High. Whether they can reach God in time — or whether all this carnage is part of His divine plan — will soon be revealed as “Preacher” barrels towards the end of the world.

As previously mentioned, Jesse Custer’s quest for God takes him back to the place he’s been avoiding his whole life: home. Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy return to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse was raised, and find old grudges and deadly obligations await them. With the help of his friends — and a few enemies — Jesse will need to escape his past… because the future of the world depends on it.

Here’s new art and the first teasers ahead of the late summer premiere.

The cast includes Ella Purnell (“Yellowjackets”), Kyle MacLachlan (“Twin Peaks”), Aaron MotenWalton Goggins and more. All episodes of Season 1 are streaming on Prime Video.
