[Teaser] Second “The Walking Dead” Spinoff Series Opens Up a Whole New World in Spring 2020
New characters. New zombies. New world.
Announced back in April, AMC is expanding the world of “The Walking Dead” with a second spinoff series, which is said to feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Alexa Mansour, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, Aliyah Royale and Annet Mahendru will lead the cast.
We don’t know all that much about the series other than the general approach, but it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Jordan Vogt-Roberts will direct the pilot episode!
The 10-episode first season of the untitled series will premiere on AMC in Spring 2020.

Ralph Ineson and Corey Stoll Join ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ Spinoff Series Starring Wyatt Russell
The small screen MonsterVerse is expanding with a “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” spinoff series centered on Lee Shaw (Wyatt Russell), and Deadline brings us the latest casting news.
Corey Stoll (Imperfect Women, Billions), Ralph Ineson (The Witch, The Fantastic Four: First Steps), and Nyasha Hatendi (Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials, Casual) have signed on.
Pilou Asbæk (Salem’s Lot) and Millie Brady (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) also star.
Originally announced back in December, “Obi-Wan Kenobi” showrunner and “Monarch” executive producer Joby Harold will serve as showrunner on the untitled spinoff series.
The series will follow Colonel Lee Shaw, an American operative who in 1984 went on a secret mission behind enemy lines in an attempt to stop the Soviets from unleashing a horrific new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War.
Wyatt Russell told Collider earlier this year, “you’ve got absolutely no fucking clue what to expect. I think people are going to expect one thing and be like, ‘Holy shit, this is not what I expected.’ It’ll go deeper into Lee’s experience after he came up, and being sort of put on ice, in 1982, and then what happens after that, and why he’s needed and the mission he goes on.”
