After this past Friday’s episode of “Swamp Thing,” the series is officially dead in the water over at DC Universe, meaning the season one finale was actually an unplanned series finale. The episode left open several loose ends that were surely going to be explored in the second season, but surprisingly brought about a satisfying ending for Swamp Thing and Abby Arcane.
As for Jason Woodrue (Kevin Durand), he consumed bits and pieces of Swamp Thing’s internal organs in the series finale, finally transforming into the Floronic Man in a post-credits scene. Presumably, the second season of “Swamp Thing” was going to see the title character doing battle with Durand’s fully transformed Floronic Man, but alas, that won’t be happening.
The post-credits scene saw Matt Cable (Henderson Wade) returning to the police station, where he was attacked by the monster formerly known as Jason Woodrue. “Why Alec Holland so desperately wanted to be human again….when the alternative is infinitely more intriguing…I *was* Jason Woodrue,” the Floronic Man said to Cable, before lunging towards him.
You can check out the post-credits scene below, which gives us a pretty good look at the show’s character design for the Floronic Man. It’s very “Tim Curry from Legend,” is it not?!
