Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society…

Nickelodeon‘s three-part limited revival of the 90s horror series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” wasn’t supposed to premiere until Friday, but the channel has delivered a big time surprise this morning by unleashing the debut episode TODAY over on YouTube! Yes, you can watch the entirety of “Part 1” right here, right now, embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

The second and third parts of the revival series are set to premiere on Nickelodeon on October 18 and October 25. Should be a perfect little treat for the Halloween season!

Through 3 hour-long episodes, the series introduces a new Midnight Society – a group of kids who tell a terrifying tale about the Carnival of Doom, only to have the events of the story come to life.

The new members of the Midnight Society are: Gavin, played by Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.); Akiko, played by Miya Cech (Rim of the World, Always Be My Maybe); Louise, played by Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl, The Worst Witch); Graham, played by Jeremy Taylor (It, Goosebumps 2:Haunted Halloween); and Rachel, played by Lyliana Wray (Top Gun: Maverick, Black-ish).

The Carnival of Doom’s ringmaster, Mr. Tophat, is played by Rafael Casal (Blindspotting).

The limited series is produced by ACE Entertainment (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, The Perfect Date) with ACE founder Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman serving as executive producers. The series is written by BenDavid Grabinski (Skiptrace) and directed by Dean Israelite (Power Rangers movie, Project Almanac), both of whom executive produce.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has two awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

The small screen MonsterVerse is expanding with a “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” spinoff series centered on Lee Shaw (Wyatt Russell), and Deadline brings us the latest casting news.

Corey Stoll (Imperfect Women, Billions), Ralph Ineson (The Witch, The Fantastic Four: First Steps), and Nyasha Hatendi (Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials, Casual) have signed on.

Pilou Asbæk (Salem’s Lot) and Millie Brady (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) also star.

Originally announced back in December, “Obi-Wan Kenobi” showrunner and “Monarch” executive producer Joby Harold will serve as showrunner on the untitled spinoff series.

The series will follow Colonel Lee Shaw, an American operative who in 1984 went on a secret mission behind enemy lines in an attempt to stop the Soviets from unleashing a horrific new Titan big enough to destroy the U.S. and turn the tide of the Cold War.

Wyatt Russell told Collider earlier this year, “you’ve got absolutely no fucking clue what to expect. I think people are going to expect one thing and be like, ‘Holy shit, this is not what I expected.’ It’ll go deeper into Lee’s experience after he came up, and being sort of put on ice, in 1982, and then what happens after that, and why he’s needed and the mission he goes on.”
