Apple TV+ is adapting Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series of sci-fi novels in the form of the 10-episode TV series “Foundation,” with Lee Pace (“Halt and Catch Fire”) and Jared Harris (“The Terror”) set to lead the cast. The news comes courtesy of Deadline this afternoon.
“The series chronicles the epic saga of The Foundation, a band of exiles who discover that the only way to save the Galactic Empire from destruction is to defy it.”
Deadline adds, “Pace plays Brother Day, the current Emperor of the Galaxy. Harris plays Hari Seldon, a mathematical genius who predicts the demise of the empire.”
The series hails from David Goyer, Josh Friedman and Skydance Television.
Goyer will be the show-runner and executive producer.
