First Season of “Creepshow” Comes to an End on Halloween With Tom Savini’s Return to the Director’s Chair

Just one more episode remains in the first season of Shudder’s anthology “Creepshow,” but have no fear because the series has already been renewed for a second season!

In the meantime, the season one finale of “Creepshow” will begin streaming tomorrow, October 31st, with the tales By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain and Skincrawlers. The former tale is based on a short story penned by Joe Hill, and what’s particularly exciting about By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain is that it was directed by Creepshow vet Tom Savini!

In Hill and Savini’s terror tale:

“Her dad died looking for the monster living at the bottom of Lake Champlain, and now, will she?”

Savini, who has only directed a small handful of projects over the years including three episodes of “Tales from the Darkside” and the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead, teased By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain to Meagan during her visit to the “Creepshow” set.

It’s about a sweet little family terrorized by a monster, and it’s not the dinosaur in the story, it’s the stepdad,” Savini explained to us. “So, when the kids leave the house just to run away from all this and they bump into what? This thing, it looks like a boulder. But walking around it, they see it becomes Champy, the thing that the stores in town are selling souvenirs and T-shirts of. Like the Loch Ness Monster, it’s this myth that nobody has ever seen, but people swear it exists. But this episode is sweet and sad, and then heroic.”

Savini added, “It’s a feel-good episode, so I don’t know if any of the other ones are feel-good episodes.

As for Roxanne Benjamin’s Skincrawlers, here’s the plot rundown: “A man considers a miraculous new treatment for weight loss that turns out to have unexpected complications.”

Don’t miss the season finale of “Creepshow” on Halloween night!
