In the wake of two Goosebumps movies, R.L. Stine‘s Fear Street books are next being turned into a movie trilogy, but that’s not the only Stine-penned horror on the way to the screen.
Variety reports today that HBO Max is developing an anthology horror series based on Scholastic’s “Point Horror” books, several of which were penned by R.L. Stine!
The show, from Picturestart and Lionsgate Television, is set to be titled “Point Fear.”
“It’s described as an anthology series that exposes the horrors of being a teenager. Each episode of the show will be inspired by one of the books in the series, told for today’s audiences but with a nostalgic nod to the 1990s.”
Stine is set to executive produce, with Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians) in talks to direct.
